Feeding Bottles (aka: nursing bottles, baby bottles, nursers, and/or submarine bottles)

Feeding bottles, like bubby pots (discussed later), were difficult to clean as one can imagine. The milk (or liquid food) was poured into the opening on the top and the flow of contents was regulated by placing the thumb (or cloth or cork) over the top hole. This is often difficult to imagine however on some of the feeders I have seen as some had very large top holes. Generally a piece of cloth or soft leather (known as a "teat") was tied around the spout end.
Please look at the Photo Library as it contains an extremely large inventory of wonderfully representative samples to enjoy and compare.
